We recently had the pleasure of welcoming students from Kindai University to MMC! During their visit, students learned more about multiculturalism in Palmerston North, as well as the range of services and support that MMC provides within our community.
We were also fortunate to hear from our guest speaker, Mari, originally from Japan, who shared her personal experiences of moving to and settling in New Zealand. She spoke about some of the cultural differences she encountered and the things that helped her adjust and feel at home here.

To wrap up the session, students took part in a fun “Is this more like NZ or Japan?” quiz game — and achieved a perfect score of 100%! We then enjoyed some afternoon tea together and had the chance for further conversation and connection.
A big thank you to Kindai University, Massey University, and especially Mari for sharing her time, experiences, and insights with us.
