Growing Together Learning Community Hub – A Journey of Connection, Learning, and Support
Over the past months, MMC and the Welcoming Schools Programme facilitated the Growing Together Learning Community Hub (GTLCH), funded by the Ministry of Education, which brought together parents and caregivers of children with additional learning and developmental needs in a safe, welcoming, and culturally responsive space.
Through ten sessions, families connected with each other, gained practical tools to support their children’s learning and wellbeing, and built confidence navigating education and community support systems. Parents shared that they felt more informed, more confident engaging with schools, and more connected to others walking a similar journey.
The Hub was made possible through strong collaboration with the Ministry of Education, NeuroNetworks, local schools, and a range of community organisations, and it highlighted the value of delivering this kaupapa through MMC, a trusted place where families feel comfortable seeking support beyond any single programme.
We are grateful to all the parents, presenters, and partners who contributed their time, knowledge, and lived experience. Your openness and willingness to learn and share made this Learning Community Hub what it was.
The conversations, connections, and momentum created through GTLCH have laid a strong foundation for future learning and support opportunities, and we look forward to continuing to grow together
