MMC Activities
From all over the world migrants and refugees come to make Palmerston North their home. Some of us have been here for a long time. Some of us have only just arrived. Together we make Palmerston North a place where migrants are celebrated for their uniqueness and encouraged to discover the beauty and richness of all cultures represented in our community.
Manawatu Multicultural Council organises and participates in events and activities that promote cultural diversity in Palmerston North. Some of the things we have been involved in are:
Rainbow Praise
Ethkick
Multicultural Picnic
MMC Annual Dinner
Migrating Kitchen Trust
Parliament Visit
Cultural Evening
Marae Visits
We also operate the MMC Centre, a place where migrants and refugees can get advice, support and information about living in New Zealand. The centre has a regular programme of English language and social activities, or people can visit during open hours to get the help and support they need.
